How El-Rufai, Saraki Stopped Me From Becoming Buhari’s Vice – Tinubu
Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC has accused Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai of stopping him from becoming President Muhammadu Buhari’s vice president.
Tinubu made the claim in a book titled ‘Against the Run of Play,’ written by the Chairman, Editorial Board of ThisDay, Olusegun Adeniyi.
He said, “What they (Saraki and others from the PDP) did behind my back was wrong. We always do things as a group. By the time they joined, we were already too far ahead in our processes but we accommodated them.
“We agreed to take their state structures and subsume them into the part and they all had their opportunity to nominate the candidates of their choices for different political offices.
“But they went behind to instigate Buhari and some other people in the party against me on the pretext of religion. That was not right. They were canvassing arguments that the Christians in the North would not vote for a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
“Nasir el-Rufai was also selling the same argument within the CPC (the defunct Congress for Progressive Change) because at that point, he still wanted to have Pastor Bakare brought in as Buhari’s running mate.”
“I backed down because I did not want to be depicted as causing a problem. I backed away from the position in order to offer Buhari a name I once raised with him in 2011: that of Professor Yemi Osibanjo,” he added.

Honourable Idiat Babalola, an aide to the Governor of Osun State, was on Monday attacked by angry youths at the burial of the first Civilian Governor of Osun, Senator Isiaka Adeleke in Ede. Idiat just revealed the reason behind her the attack.
Babalola told Amiloaded that she was attacked under the speculation that she could be the next Deputy Governor of the State.
Babalola, said her attackers were acting on the local politics of Ede, where she also hails from just as the late Senator Adeleke.
She said : “I am a proud daughter of Ede and Uncle Isiaka has been a mentor and we never had any disagreement till the news of his death ”
“We worked together with Uncle for the re-election of Governor Aregbesola in 2014 and for his own election into the Senate in 2015.
“Those who masterminded the attacks on me are people with poor understanding of the relationship between us and who act based on their own political permutations only,”
She explained that she was at the burial in company with her father, Chief SOB Babalola, an industrialist who is also a friend to the later father of now late Senator Adeleke
Hon. Idiat said she was in Lagos when she got the sad news of Adeleke’s death and she abandoned everything and hurried down to Ede to pay her final respect to the dead.
She explained that she started noticing malice when some youths were grunting about the caretaker committee members list being full of her loyalists and having less names of the late Adeleke’s loyalists before the youths went as wild as removing canopies on the high profile dignitaries.
Babalola expressed appreciation to Governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, who saved her life.
Nnamdi Kanu Rejects Bail Says He Is Ready To Die
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has rejected the bail granted to him on Tuesday, today the 25th day of April, 2017.
Kanu has vowed to remain in Kuje prisons with his co-accused persons.
Kanu was granted bail on health grounds by Justice Binta Nyako. However, bail was refused his co-accused persons – Mazi Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi.
According to the source, ”I just finished speaking with Kanu. He has vowed to remain at Kuje prisons pending when his co-accused persons are granted bail.
“He made it clear that these other three persons were arrested because of him (Nnamdi) and as such he can’t abandon them there.
“Nnamdi Kanu has, therefore, made it clear that he is ready to stay and die at Kuje Prisons.”
IPOB has however reacted to the bail conditions, describing them as childish.
A statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary of the group, Comrade Emma Powerful, reads:
“The indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB and it’s leadership worldwide commend those who put pressure on Nigerian Government and her judiciary to release our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in detention illegally since October 2015.
“The bail conditions which are most probably designed by politicians who are afraid of our leader’s popularity is too inhuman, childish and stringent.
“The oppressors are afraid of leader’s popularity and they hope to cage him through this funny bail condition, we are not excited, we demand the release of our members detained alongside him.
“It is unacceptable to the entire members of IPOB worldwide that the presiding judge Hon. Justice Binta Nyako attached condition towards the release of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“The Federal Government and their judiciary through justice Binta Nyako banned Mazi Nnamdi Kanu not to grant press interview, not to sit with more than 10 people or have any gathering.
“However, granting conditional release to our is unacceptable to us because he committed any crime against humanity or Nigerian state, we wondered why Binta Nyako would prefer to attach conditional release him.
“Again, justice Binta Nyako refused to grant Mazi Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Mazi Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi bail who has been detained with our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu since almost two years.
“We also thank the civilise Nations in United Nations, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, American Government, Israeli Government, Russian Government, European Union and others who prevail upon the Nigerian Government and her judiciary to grant our leader bail.
“We also want them to pressure on Nigerian Government and her judiciary to release other three members who are still in Kuje prison Abuja.”

Federal Govt To Reward Whistle-blowers On Illegal Weapons
Maj-Gen. Babagana Munguno (rtd), the National Security Adviser are working on the discovery and recovery of illegal weapons through a reward system.
Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, confirmed this development in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday.
According to VANGUARD, Shehu said the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) is adopting the whistle-blowing approach so as to eradicate mass shooting incidents and remove the harassment of law abiding citizens by holders of illegal weapons.
He said the proposed adoption of the whistle-blowing policy on illegal weapons by the Federal Government followed the success of the policy in the recovery of huge amount of questionable and stolen funds by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Shehu said this would be a sort of check on weapons ownership in the country.
He said : “In the last few days, we had discussed the efforts the administration is making to strengthen the whistle-blower mechanism in the Ministry of Finance, which to date has proved to be very effective in bringing the attention of the government to stolen assets and unexplained wealth.
“The ONSA initiative may be an independent line of inquiry or in active collaboration with what the government is doing in Finance. This will be a sort of searchlight on weapons ownership in the country.
“Whatever form or shape it takes, the administration wants to take a tough line to curtail the large number of illegal weapons in circulation used in intra and inter-communal conflicts,’’
People are saying they will be quitting school for whistle blowing … Seems its paying more now. Lol …

EFCC stops Patience Jonathan from withdrawing from unfrozen $5.9m account
The Economic and Financial crimes commission blocked the former first lady from making withdrawals from her account.
According to NAN, Former Nigerian First Lady, Patience Jonathan, on Monday visited the Maitama branch of the Skyebank in Abuja to withdraw part of her $5.9million recently unfrozen by a Lagos High Court, but she couldn’t.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had procured a stay-of-execution of the judgement and also simultaneously filed an appeal against the judgment given last week on 6 April by Justice Mojisola Olatoregun,
News spread quickly that she visited the bank on Monday, following another visit on Friday 7 April. Unconfirmed reports said that she wanted to withdraw as much as $1million, but was given $100,000 by the bank.
She returned at 10:00 a.m. and had a closed-door meeting with an Executive Director of the bank.
She finally left the bank at 4:05 p.m. but declined to speak to newsmen who sought to know why she was there.
One of her aides, who declined to disclose his name, told newsmen that “everything was okay”.
A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Thursday vacated its order which in 2016 froze the Skye Bank account of the ex-first lady.
The account had a balance of $5.9 million dollars at the period.
Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, set aside the ‘No-Debit Order’ which the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission earlier placed on the account on allegations that the money found in it was a proceed of crime.
Patience Jonathan’s lawyer, Mr Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), had urged the court to unfreeze Jonathan’s account on the grounds that she was not a party in the suit leading to the freezing order.
Citing judicial authorities, Adedipe contended that the suit was an abuse of court process as the court had no Jurisdiction to make an order against one who is not a party in a suit filed before the court.
The EFCC did not file a response against Adedipe’s suit.

Her absence made the Majority Leader, Victor Okoye, adjourn the sitting till Tuesday, April 11.
Speaking with journalists, Mr. Onyebuchi Offor, said:
“We came this morning to hold our normal session, only to be disappointed that the Speaker had absconded with the mace.

Show Nigerians Your WAEC certificate – Omokri to Buhari

Reno, who is a US-based pastor challenged Buhari through his Facebook urging him to sack the Senior Advocates representing him in court over certificate issues to prove he is noble.
Reno wrote: “Former President Goodluck Jonathan made 6 As and 2 Cs in his WASC School Leaving Examinations. I have Dr. Jonathan’s original certificates!
“If you want to see it I can show it to you without you having to pay thirteen SANs to raise objections and ‘gift’ a judge N500,000. That is transparency. That is integrity.
“That is straightforwardness. Dr. Jonathan signed the Freedom of Information Act into law so that all Nigerians have a right to know vital information which those in government want to keep from them.
“President Muhammadu Buhari, prove that you have integrity. Prove that you are transparent. Sack your thirteen SANs and show us your certificate! You have been pointing one finger at others, now your own four fingers are pointing at you!”
Fayose Dares Fayemi To Contest Ekiti Gubernatorial Election come 2018
Ayo Fayose, Governor of Ekiti State has dared his predecessor, Kayode Fayemi to contest the 2018 governorship election.
Fayose said Fayemi has been boasting that the Supreme Court would review its 2015 judgment which validated his election.
“This was an election that was adjudged free, fair, and credible by both local and international observers, including the United States government. These renewed efforts are consequent upon the brick-walls he (Fayemi) has met on his plan to contest the 2018 governorship election as APC candidate.
“Having realised how difficult it will be for him to clinch APC ticket not to even talk of winning the election proper, Fayemi has opted to seek power through the backdoor, claiming that he already has the backing of three newly appointed justices of the Supreme Court, the DSS and other top organs of the Federal Government to force the Supreme Court to review its judgment on the Ekiti State 2014 governorship election.
“Fayemi and his cohorts are even boasting that they are only putting pressure on the new Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen to join them in the devilish plot.”
“They failed before, they will fail again. The harder they come against me, the harder they will fall. Another governorship election in Ekiti is around the corner and if Fayemi is a democrat, he should prepare to contest in that election rather than continue to shop for “Oluwole” and “Jankara” judgment that will return him to office through the back door.
“The power of the people is mightier than “Federal might” If they dare Ekiti, they will meet their nemesis. If they do not retreat and put an end to their diabolical plots, Ekiti will be their Waterloo.
“I have an unflinching confidence that the Supreme Court will not debase itself. On the 2014 Ekiti governorship election, the apex court has spoken and it has spoken so clearly. Day-dreamers like Fayemi can continue to hallucinate. As for me and the Ekiti people, our focus is on the 2018 governorship election. By God’s grace and the solid support and backing of Ekiti people, we will again give Fayemi and his political camp 16 – 0.”
Remove Itsekiri Land From Biafra Map – Youths Warn IPOB
The Itsekiri National Youth Congress, INYC, has called on Biafra agitators to remove Itsekiri land from the map of the Biafra.
This was contained in a communiqué issued in Warri, Delta State by the President of the INYC, Esimaje Awani yesterday.
He warned that, “Itsekiri and its territories should not be included in any IPOB or Biafra plan.”
He stated that Itsekiri were an indigenous ethnic group of Nigeria’s Niger Delta region of Delta State presently resident in Warri South, Warri North and Warri South West Local Government Areas bordering the Atlantic Coast of Nigeria as their homeland with their only neighbours being the Bini to the North, the Ijaw to the South, the Urhobo to the East and the Yoruba of Ondo State to the Northwest.
According to Awani, from about 1490 – 1884, the Itsekiri had an independent political kingdom known as Warri Kingdom that was not subordinate to any of the World Powers in Europe or any African Kingdom.
He added that it was in 1894 when the Niger Coast Protectorate was established that it came under the protection of Her Britannic Majesty vide the Treaty of 1884.
He further explained that by another Treaty of 1894, the Itsekiri remained under the British until the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria was created and in 1914, without consultation with the Itsekiri people, Lord Lugard decreed Nigeria into existence and made Warri Kingdom (Itsekiri homeland) part of this enterprise.
Awani pointed out that by the map of the Republic of Biafra of May 1967, Edo and Delta states of Nigeria was never envisioned as a part of Biafra by the legendary Chukwuemeka Dim Ojukwu, saying that the current inclusion of present Delta State, including the Itsekiri National territories of Warri Kingdom without due consultation is preposterous, totally unacceptable and ultimately invalid.
His words,“IPOB and Biafra have their rights of agitation for freedom of self determination as enshrined in the United Nations declaration, but other minority ethnic groups not duly consulted and their approval secured should not be dragged along to avoid the mistake that led to the civil war.
“The magnanimity of Itsekiri in allowing Igbos celebrate the Igbo Cultural Day in our land should not be taken for granted as we urge IPOB to de-list Itsekiri territories and Warri areas from its proposed map.”

Reno Omokri Said Focusing On Jonathan’s Govt Destroyed Buhari’s
Reno Omokri unleashed his mind through Facebook. He wrote :”What derailed the Buhari administration is that they focused all their energies on destroying Goodluck Jonathan, the PDP and the Transformation Agenda instead of concentrating on Muhammadu Buhariammadu Buhari, the APC and the Change Agenda.”
”Leaders must realize that power is like fire. You can only make progress with fire if you use it to light the way in darkness. But if you use it to burn your enemy’s house, after burning it, the wind will spread the fire to your own house. Good leaders focus on making progress, bad leaders are fixated on revenge. You cannot combine both. You must choose one or the other and President Buhari made the wrong choice.”

2 CBN Directors Arrested By EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
PUNCH reports that the directors were arrested for Forex manipulation. An EFCC source said, “We have arrested two directors of the CBN in connection with forex manipulation. We believe that it was the activities of these individuals that contributed to the dollar scarcity and the weakening of the naira.
“Ironically, immediately we started investigating these chaps a month ago, the CBN reeled out a new forex policy which sought to flood the market with excess dollar and strengthen the naira.
“Already, we have searched their houses and recovered some sensitive documents. We have reason to believe that they may not have acted alone. We expect to make more discoveries as investigations continue.”
The CBN has since denied the arrests. Acting Director, Corporate Communications Department (CBN) Isaac Okoroafor said, “This is not true. No director of the bank (CBN) has been arrested by the EFCC. The current activities of the CBN in the forex market is a result of months of study, monitoring and planning to tackle the activities of black marketers.

President Buhari Appoints Two Ministerial Nominees, Sends Names To Senate
President Muhammadu Buhari has sent names of two new ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
A source close to the Senate told our correspondent that the letter arrived the Senate late Tuesday.
The source revealed that the two nominees are from Kogi and Gombe state.
Our correspondent gathered that the Kogi nominee will be replacing the late Minister of State for Labour, Barr. James Ocholi while the nominee from Gombe would be replacing former Minister for Environment Ms Amina Mohammed who had gone to serve in the United Nations as a deputy Secretary General.
The list of ministerial nominees is coming at a time when the Senate stood down for two weeks consideration of the request of President Buhari for the appointment of Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs).

Youths at the event expressed in their different opinions reasons why a youth like Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo should be urged to contest, being a youth with the wherewithal to stir the required storm that can make a youth emerge winner in the 2017 gubernatorial polls.
Citing their reasons of urging Onunkwo to vie for the governor of the state, the groups said it became necessary to seek for a youth who understands youth, as it would be fair for someone who is pained to speak on behalf of others, as he will clearly highlight the pain of others, and Johnbosco Onunkwo is worthy enough to champion the cause of the youths.
The conference ended with a communiqué where the youths gave Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo 21days ultimatum to declare his interest to run for the gubernatorial elections or forfeit the support of the youths. The Communiqué was signed by the head of the youth groups.
